I am fortunate enough to live among very talented and successful people that besides other things, play concerts. As a photographer, I'm always interested and curious to take shots, to experiment, well...to push the shutter button. As a musician I'm interested in the artistic performance, in the overall taste that a performance leaves in my ears.
Last Friday I went to this Recital featuring very gifted pianists and was literally blasted away by their performance!!! Here are some photographs of the four Champions and their Guru. More tk.

Winter is a beautiful season. I love the snow, ice, stunning scenery.... Today, I was in a mood for winterscapes so I went to the Nature reserve in Parkville, MO and had a blast shooting away. Also, it was a good opportunity to test my 18-55VR Nikon lens. I think it's good to test the lens you have and see where are its strengths. That will be a valuable info when, later, you'll want to nail a shoot! This one has the sweet spot around f8 and will keep a good consistency up until f16. Anyway, enjoy the winter and take fun pictures! Cheers

Today it was a cold winter day! However, my young friends acted admirable and we all had a good time (i hope:). The big challenge was to have everyone as much relaxed and cheerful as possible considering the low temperature. I start to believe more and more that there are people out there that are just meant to be in front of a camera, and I think this family has a lot of those genes. Another big challenge was the snow, which constantly was fooling my camera meter and therefore had to keep an eye at all times on the histogram. However, we need to keep in mind that the histogram can lie sometimes...Thanks God for Lightroom and for all the details that remain in an overexposed digital photograph. Cheers
Mr. Love is a good friend of mine, very talented painter and businessman. We've known each other for a long time and I think he's one of the influences that led me to fully embrace photography as another form of artistic expression beside music. It was in his Studio that I first started to give more attention to the notions of light, composition, simplicity, vision... We shot this photos in a cold December morning and I was truly impressed to see such dedication and commitment. Please visit his website which contains a wealth of good paintings: http://www.jimloveartist.com/
